Hi! I'm Ryan Duncan-Ayala (he/they), a Brooklyn-based creative producer and company manager committed to creating spaces and access for minoritized communities, bolstering entertainment that provokes discussion, and fostering new work development.
I was born and raised in Laredo, TX on the Texas-Mexican border where I started doing theatre at the age of eight with Laredo Theatre Guild International. Needless to say, I immediately fell in love. Throughout my childhood and teenage years I slowly moved from acting and performing to working backstage and eventually stage managing. While attending college for Accounting, I continued to stage manage and expanded my interests to arts administration/management.
In 2019, I attended the Region VI Festival of the Kennedy Center American College Theater Festival and participated in the ASPIRE Arts Leadership Program. At the festival I became the recipient of an ASIPRE National Fellowship that took me to Washington, DC to participate in a week long intensive which culminated in me in receiving a company management internship at the Eugene O'Neill Theater Center that kickstarted my career in Theatre Management. After that, I began working in non-profit theatre management; fundraising for institutions and continuing work with KCACTF and the ASPIRE Program. During the pandemic, I began working in the producing sphere creating my own informal production company to develop new work and produce innovative virtual productions.

As the pandemic progressed, I participated in career development programs with The 24 Hour Plays and Theatre Producers of Color that created the opportunity for me to leave my fundraising job and move to New York City to pursue a career in producing and company management. I have worked with National Alliance for Musical Theatre, Colt Coeur, the O’Neill, The 24 Hour Plays, Syracuse Stage, the RENT 25th Anniversary Farewell Tour (ACM), the New York Theatre Workshop production of ‘Merrily We Roll Along’ (CM), the Fled Collective, and most recently was the Company Manager for the national tour of Million Dollar Quartet Christmas.
Proudly, I've made my producing debut Off Broadway with ¡Americano! and on Broadway as a Co-Producer with How to Dance in Ohio. I have also worked on and continue to work on the development of new musicals and plays en route to production such as AZUL, A Bilingual Musical. Lastly, I've produced and directed multiple sold out cabarets/concerts at world renowned venues, 54 Below and Joe's Pub.
